Scattered rains likely in Qatar today

Doha: Several parts of the country received scattered rains yesterday with the weathermen forecasting more light rains today.

The rains were also accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas.

The Meteorology Department, in its forecast for today said many areas are also expected to experience strong winds, with the possibility of drizzle and thunder in some parts of the country. 

The department has also warned of poor visibility and high seas today resulting from strong dust laden winds. 

Visibility may decrease to 2km or less in some places, according to a statement issued by the department yesterday. 

Temperature in Doha would hover between 23 and 30 degrees Celsius today and it will be most sizzling in Al Ruwais at 30 degrees Celsius.

The northwesterly to northeasterly winds would blow at speeds ranging from 15 to 25 knots, reaching 30 knots at times.
