GRSIA, EQ launch Step initiative

Doha: The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA), in cooperation with Enterprise Qatar (EQ), has launched ‘Step’ initiative which aims at establishing effective partnership for training a number of retirees and provide them with knowledge and skills necessary to establish their own small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Khalifa Al Khulaifi, the Director of Retirement Department at the GRSIA, lauded EQ initiative to cooperate with the Authority in launching this initiative to provide the retirees with the necessary training and qualification to enable them build their own businesses.
Ibramim Al Mana’i, the Director of Development and Education at EQ, stated that the inking of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GRSIA is an obvious evidence of the EQ openness towards its economic and social community in the State and for the benefit of realizing the national goals stated in Qatar Vision 2030. He appreciated the prompt response and favorable spirit of cooperation the leaders of GRSIA have met ‘Step’ initiative with.
Al Mana’i, explained that EQ aims in launching ‘Step’ initiative at further promoting Qatari retirees’ standard of living, providing them with additional revenues to mitigate the burden of living expenses and secure appropriate opportunities to establish successful commercial business.
“We shall strive to provide the retirees, who seek self-substantiation and catch up the world of small and medium businesses, with the relevant information and experience,” said Al Mana’i.
Dalal Alaqeedi, in-charge of Media and Director of GRSIA’s website, confirmed that the Authority, supported by its higher leadership, strives to go ahead with the implementation of a package of partnership service programs in cooperation with the relevant entities in the state, considering that the GRSIA is preoccupies and concerned with securing the best opportunities for retirees to live humble and dignified lives within the community. 
“The social partnership is considered as a key element for achieving sustainable development and essential pathway for securing a package of services for the retirees in the State,” said Alaqeedi. “Whenever this partnership is consolidated the society reaps its positive outcomes through the awareness of the community. Hence, the application and favourable outcomes of all the plans and strategies depend on the standard of such social partnership and its outcomes,” she said.
