Ministry holds forum for Qatari students in US

Los Angeles: The Foreign Ministry organised its first forum for students dispatched by the ministry to study in the US.
Based on instruction by Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, the forum in Los Angeles sought to identify issues and obstacles facing students to find solutions and  discuss follow-up and coordination mechanisms with universities where they are studying.
Director of the ministry’s Human Resources Department, Ambassador Abdulaziz Abdul Qader Al Ahmad, conveyed the Minister’s greetings to students and underlined the attention given by the ministry to them to meet their needs and overcome difficulties that may face.
He said Qatar, under the leadership of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, attaches great importance to acquisition of knowledge and education as it is the first pillar of development.
Qatari Ambassador Mohammed bin Jaham Al Kuwari told the students that the doors of the embassy and consulate are open to them at any time to discuss their academic and other issues. Qatari Consul General in Los Angeles Khaled bin Yousif Al Sada expressed the consulate’s readiness to organise training courses in Qatari diplomatic missions in the US and brief them on services provided by the consulate. The forum is part of a series of meetings organised by the ministry for around 200 students on scholarships in the US, the UK, France, Canada, Australia and Arab countries. QNA
