DAMMAM: A policeman was killed and three others injured in Awamiyyah in the Eastern Province during fire exchange with terrorist elements on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
It said four Saudi men were arrested for firing at the security men while on duty.
Corporal, Majed bin Turki Al-Qahtani was seriously injured during the fire exchange and died later in hospital.
Three security men, a Saudi citizen and an expatriate suffered mild injuries but their condition were stable.
Th security spokesman of the Interior Ministry said the security men were searching some locations suspected to be used by terrorists when fire was opened at them from a nearby building.
"The security forces replied, arrested four Saudis and confiscated weapons, ammunition and communications equipment," the spokesman said adding that the incident was still being investigated.
