DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has launched a new programme to improve the performance and skills of its Qatari employees.

Eighty-one employees took part in the first phase of the Individual Development Plan (IDP), that will constantly review and assess the employee’s learning and career objectives to identify areas that need improvement.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Saif Al Kaabi, Ashghal’s Human Resources Manager, said the new plan is part of the overall human resources development strategy adopted by Ashghal.

Guided by experts, each employee’s self-assessment will be used to rank a set of career paths. After the employee has identified a long-term career goal, the IDP will help them set short-term goals directed towards enhancing skills important for their career development.
