South Sudan’s Minister for Petroleum and Mining Stephen Dhieu Dau prepares to press the button which will resume oil production after a 16-month hiatus in a facility in Paloch in South Sudan’s Upper Nile state, yesterday. Crude oil accounted for 98 percent of the nation’s revenue until a dispute with former civil war foe Sudan led to a shutdown in oil production in January 2012.
