The Changanacherry NSS College Alumni Association, Qatar Chapter, (Chanss-Qatar), celebrated Vishu and Easter at a function at the Crystal Palace Hotel recently. More than 300 people, including members and their families, attended the function which was followed by lunch.
Senior member Mohana Kumaran spoke about the legend of Vishu and its relevance in modern time while Ajith Prabha gave the Easter message.
Blessen Philip and P S Venugopal regaled the audience, rendering some popular Malayalam songs.
The Chanss-Qatar annual general body which met on the sidelines of the Vishu-Easter celebration, elected the following office-bearers for a period of one year: President Bindu Philip, Vice-President K P Giridharan Nair, General Secretary Deep Radhakrishnan, Joint Secretary S Unnikrishnan and Treasurer V Vinu Kumar. An 11-member Executive Committee and five-member Advisory Committee also have been nominated.
Outgoing president Varghese Mathew and general secretary Ajith Nair also spoke at the function.
