Doha: The Steering Committee for the National Development Strategy (2011-2016) Mid-Term Review (NDS-MTR) held its second meeting under the chairmanship of H E Dr Saleh bin Mohamed Salem Al Nabit, the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS). H E Dr Issa Saad Al Jafali, the Minister of Administrative Development, attended the meeting.
During the meeting attended by 13 undersecretaries and high officials of other bodies, the committee discussed the progress achieved in the preparation of the NDS-MTR which aims to examine the convenience of NDS (2011-2016) objectives, to identify gaps, and to include the new strategic directives in response to the local and international changes.
The committee also tackled the challenges confronted during implementation, and how to better handle them. The committee was briefed on the report preparation process, and the contribution of the World Bank in this regard.
