Kuwaiti security arrive at the scene as supporters of Kuwaiti opposition leader and former MP Mussallam Al Barrak burn tyres during a protest in Kuwait City yesterday. The public prosecutor ordered Al Barrak detained for 10 days for alleged slander and insults to the supreme judicial council. At a rally on June 10, Al Barrak claimed that former senior officials, including members of the ruling family, had stolen tens of billions of dollars from public funds and engaged in money laundering.
