DOHA: Qatar National Committee for the International Humanitarian Law (NCIHL) condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza Strip, which constitutes a deliberate and serious violation to the principles of international humanitarian law, especially in light of the official statistics showing civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip, mostly women, children and other vulnerable groups.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice H E Sultan bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi, who is also chairman of the NCIHL said in a statement here yesterday that the Israeli deliberate and ongoing attacks on civilians and destruction of facilities such as schools, houses, places of worship and medical facilities, killing of civilians in such a random and wide scale manner and using internationally banned weapons, describing them as a serious and unacceptable violation of international humanitarian law.
Targeting the United Nations’ headquarters, its means of transportation and UN organisations and agencies working in the fields of helping injured persons and providing assistance to those affected by the aggression, constitutes a dangerous precedent and a war crime, because it represents a clear violation and blatant challenge to the international mechanisms and the international humanitarian law, he added.
