DOHA: Senior representatives associated with some of Qatar’s key projects, including Qatar Rail, Msheireb Downtown, made detailed presentations highlighting specification standards and requirements for interior design for their respective projects at the ‘Future Interiors Qatar’ conference, which kicked off here yesterday.
The information shared during the event, which opened window of opportunities for several stakeholders.
The third edition of the event was revolving around understanding and implementing new technologies and strategies to maximise the role of interiors design for 2022 FIFA games and Qatar National Vision 2030.
In addition, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), the Arab Engineering Bureau, Parsons International, Hamad Medical Corporation, and Qatar Foundation also attended the conference.
It featured a case study on Msheireb Downtown Regeneration Project and a large number of exciting presentations on, ‘Traditional urbanism and architecture’ by Parnika Ray from The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, “Implementation of Interior Design Branding in a Metro Programme” by Mohamed Ahmed Timbeley, Senior Director, Architecture and MEP Expert from Qatar Rail, Shaikha Al Sulaiti, Interior Design Manager at Msheireb Properties, and Sustainability in interior design by Hamoda Youssef from Qatar Green Building Council.
The response to the event was hugely positive as delegates and sponsors enjoyed the high quality of the speaker panel as well as the opportunities to network with the industry’s key decision makers.
“Information opens a window of opportunities” said the Chief Manager of Berger Paints, adding, “The conference is a great networking opportunity. Each presentation is unique. I always learn something new from such conferences.”
“This kind of events provides a variety of ideas which are very helpful to refreshing knowledge” said a senior designer architect from the Arab Engineering Bureau.
The two-day event is being held with the participation of Almana Group, Almana Maples, ACS, Barrisol, Hempel paints, Berger paints, Arka design, Prima, Easy Drain, Tarkett, and Amara.
