ISLAMABAD: Pakistani law enforcement forces have arrested 12 militants belonging to al-Qaeda in raids conducted in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, and different areas in the country's eastern province of Punjab.
Police sources said that the detainees belong to the operations division of Al-Qaeda, adding that they were involved in several armed operations in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and different areas in the province of Punjab since 2002.
The sources pointed out that this network was also involved in attacks on Manawan police training school in Lahore, the Embassy of Denmark, a foreign restaurant in Islamabad, the base of NATO and Pakistani arms factory in the city of Wah. (QNA)
