Guwahati: Four cadres of Naga insurgent group NSCN-IM have been killed in Assam during joint operations by security forces.
The first operation took place on Monday night near Kopilo village in Dima Hasao district, which is also a tri-junction of Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, defence ministry spokesperson Lt-Colonel Suneet Newton said.
The joint operation by the paramilitary Assam Rifles and Assam Police resulted in the killing of one cadre of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) and injuries to two others.
Three more NSCN-IM cadres were killed in the second operation launched on Tuesday night in Robi Basti village, four km from Dima Hasao district headquarters Haflong, he said.
