DOHA: Qatar Airways yesterday donated QR2.4m to Education Above All (EAA) Foundation for its ‘Educate A Child’ global programme. The funds help children in co-funded education programmes in more than 30 countries worldwide.
Senior Vice President of Contracts and Procurement at Qatar Airways, Mohsen Alyafei, presented the cheque to Educate A Child representatives in a ceremony held at the World Innovation Summit for Education in Doha.
The funds represent a commitment made by Qatar Airways to match funds donated by passengers aboard its flights in seatback envelopes.
Doha: On the side-lines of the 2014 World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), it was announced yesterday that Vodafone Qatar would support the WISE Accelerator programme.
The WISE Accelerator is a new programme designed to support the development of innovative projects in the field of education. Vodafone aims to support the programme by mentoring the entrepreneurs, and providing professional advice in business planning, strategic development and organization, financial planning, communication and marketing. Vodafone will also explore the funding of these projects through its commitment to innovation in mobile education.
