ICBF provides over Rs1.5m to support flood victims of Karnataka

DOHA: Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) has handed over a cheque worth Rs1.5m to Chief Minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswami to support flood victims.

A Rs1.5m cheque for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund was handed over to Chief Minister of Karnataka, on November 24 by ICBF delegation led by ICBF General Secretary Mahesh Gowda.

Milan Arun, President of Indian Cultural Association, Aravind Patil, former President of Karnataka Sangha and ICBF, Ravi Shetty, vice-president of Karnataka Sangha and Subramanya Hebbagilu, distributor of Kannada films in Qatar and former vice-president of Karnataka Sangha, Qatar, were also present on the occasion.

Kumaraswami, who spoke after accepting the donation, lauded the efforts of the NRIs living in Qatar and extended his heartfelt gratitude.

Indian citizens residing in Qatar, impartial of their state of origin, generously contributed for this campaign under the able guidance of P. Kumaran, the Indian Ambassador to Qatar.
