Thirty people donated blood during a blood donation camp organised by Aster Medical Centre, a division of DM Healthcare, a leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and India.
The camp was organised to increase awareness about the importance of donating blood and meeting demand for blood for medical purposes.
More than 60 people volunteered to donate blood at the camp, organised in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the primary non-profit healthcare provider in Qatar, on Friday. Following screening by HMC, 30 volunteers were found to be eligible.
Commenting on the drive, Dr Sameer Moopan, CEO, DM Healthcare – Qatar said, “Blood donation is a life saving gift that takes only a few minutes of our time but makes an immeasurable difference to those in need of it. We are very grateful for cooperation and support from Hamad Medical Corporation and all the participants to help us in this endeavor to help save lives.”
The camp was held as part of Aster’s Community Good Health Programme to promote public health and well-being.
