HEC Paris in Qatar has announced its intention to sponsor a business writing competition organised by the European-based management development network EFMD.
EFMD is an international management development network headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It is comprised of more than 750 member organisations from the fields of academics, business, public service and consultancy in 81 countries. For the last 30 years, EFMD has been organising a yearly case writing competition. The aim of the competition is to encourage the writing of case material involving European companies and institutions as well as material dealing with topics concerning other geographical areas that are generally under-represented, which includes the Mena region.
HEC Paris in Qatar has announced its sponsorship of the competition for the second year. The winners in the individual categories are decided by a jury. For the 2012 award, two members of the HEC Paris faculty were members of the jury: Gerard de Maupeou and Karine Le Joly, along with the Academic Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar, Prof Antoine Hyafil.
The winning submission for the Mena category was titled: ELIE SAAB: Growth of a Global Luxury Brand, by Lebanese/American Nadia Shuayto.
“Applications for the 2013 prize are now closed and we’re sure that among them are some exceptional pieces of work. The judges are now evaluating the cases for the 2013 competition, and the winners will be announced by the end of April,” said Prof Hyafil. The Peninsula
