DOHA: The Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd has visited the Qatar International Court (QIC).
At the QIC, Lord Thomas met with QIC CEO Faisal Rashid Al Sahouti, QIC Registrar Christopher Grout and QIC Judges Dr Hassan Al Sayed and Rashid Al Badr. Lord Thomas was also given a tour of the QIC’s courtroom facilities and purpose built Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre.
Al Sahouti said: “We are honoured to welcome the Rt Hon the Lord Thomas to the Qatar International Court. This visit underlines the close relationship between Qatar and the UK, who both value the essential role that legal services play in facilitating economic growth, and supporting trade and business investment.”
Qatar and the UK seek to serve the international business community through their legal systems and the Qatar International Court is well-equipped to cater to the needs of international businesses by offering a full range of dispute resolution options, providing modern high tech courtroom facilities and access to our international panel of renowned Judges. The Qatar International Court looks forward to continued close cooperation with the UK’s legal sector and helping to advance international understanding of the Rule of Law together at the Global Legal Summit in London in 2015 and the Qatar Law Forum in Doha in 2016, he said.
