Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud about the health of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Emir wished the Saudi King a speedy recovery.
88 investors briefed about food
security projects
Doha: The technical committee tasked with engaging private sector in food security projects yesterday briefed investors on the plots of land assigned for food projects in Umm Ghuwailina area as well as the support extended by the government to ensure the success of such projects.
Eighty-eight investors participating in a tender for franchise to implement these food projects took part in a field visit organised by the committee, a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce said.
The field visit comes within the framework of the ministries of Economy and Environment’s keenness to realise the principle of transparency as well as support the private sector and its role in food security.
The statement said that the committee gave the investors a full explanation and introduced them to nature of the land and the quality of water used in agriculture, as well as the role of the committee in providing the necessary support to the private sector in coordination with the parties concerned to encourage their contribution to food security projects.
