DOHA: Doha Marketing Services Company’s (Domasco) showroom in Khalifa Street, Doha will reopen for customers on January 30, said the company yesterday. The main showroom of Domasco Honda, local dealers of Japanese Honda cars, was ordered to shut for a month by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce for violating the consumer protection law.
As per the company, the closure follows the inspection by the Ministry’s team of inspectors from the Consumer Protection Department (CPD) who found that there were minor lapses relating to Law number 8 of 2008 that states there must be full disclosure of the product to the customer. The team found issues relating to minor repairs on our stock vehicles which include fixing minute scratches or dents that may have occurred in our stock yard which were not disclosed to the customer prior to sale due to lapses in our internal process.
“We have contacted the 11 affected customers and have fully resolved their concerns and issues. We would like to offer our sincerest apologies to customers for this avoidable inconvenience. We would further like to state that we intend to fully comply with the regulations set by the ministry and have reviewed our internal processes and initiated remedial action to ensure such incidents do not happen in the future,” said Faisal Sharif, Managing Director, Domasco.
