DOHA: Several people were injured in a pile-up accident on Ras Laffan Road due to dense fog yesterday morning. Many cars were involved in the accident which happened due to poor visibility.
Ambulances rushed to the spot and took the injured to the hospital.
The fog disturbed the daily routine of people. School buses reached the schools late while office-goers were stuck in slow traffic.
The Ministry of Interior has asked drivers to be cautious as the Meteorology Department has forecast fog in the morning and late night.
“Motorists are advised to exercise caution,” said the Ministry on its Twitter handle. “Don’t use hazard lights while driving even in the fog. Instead, use only fog lights and low beam lights,” advised the ministry.
Various parts of Doha too were covered in heavy fog early yesterday leading to poor visibility. The traffic was moving slowly and intersections witnessed long queues of vehicles.
