Leading Kazakh business group set to enter Qatari market

Doha: Praising Qatar’s cultural diversity and economic development, Baltabek Mukashev (pictured), Chairman Eurasia Group of Companies, said that his company wanted to start joint ventures with Qatari companies.

“Eurasia Group of Companies was established in 1991. With over 6000 staff and 25-year experience, we have presence in central Asia, Iran, Italy, Holland and many other countries. Soon we will have presence in Qatar,” he said.

He said that he was highly impressed by Qatar, its people. “Qatar is not only rich in financial and economic terms but culturally rich and developed,” he added. He praised Qatar’s business climate further saying that Qatar had educated people. He hoped that soon direct flights between Qatar and Kazakhstan would be started that would help establishing new trade and business contacts between two countries.“One thing which like in Qatar is the fact that here people have not become relax due to their opulence rather they have maintained their attention to work.”   

Mukashev said that during his visit to Qatar to attend Kazakhstan’s Independence Day, he had also visited Museum of Islamic Art to his great amusement. “It is the best museum in the world which has preserved precious heritage of Islamic world. It is great initiative of Qatar to keep traditions and heritage alive.”

He said that his company’ Eurasia Agro Holding was in the process of doing business with Qatar. “Qatari businesses have tremendous opportunity to invest in agricultural sector of Kazakhstan as the country has vast fertile fields (around 200 million hectors) and plenty of water.” He said that Eurasia Group of Companies would likely set up its office in Doha in 2019. He said that joint cooperation ventures of Qatari and Kazakh businessmen would prove tremendously successful in various sectors particularly in agricultural sector. He said that embassy of Kazakhstan in Doha was also playing an important and laudable role to bring businessmen from both countries closer to each other opening new vistas of joint ventures for the greater good of both nations. 

Mukashev noted that good political relations between leadership of both countries were also paving way for trade, investment and economic cooperation between Qatar and Kazakhstan.

Mukashev said that though the population of Kazakh citizens in Qatar was not big but they were living very vibrant and active life.
