When truth fades away, rights are denied and honesty and hard work are not valued, we despair and become frustrated.
We have been taught that as a man sows so shall he reap. We believe in this. Ingratitude can never equal generosity. Neglect and marginalization can never replace achievement and innovation.
But where is job security?
How wonderful to get a job that matches one’s qualifications! But it would be perfect to make such an employee feel secure.
Working conditions should be fair in the division of labour and reward. Certainly, rewards are safeguarded by law. However, the workers must feel comfortable. Work should be based on sincerity. I do not ask for perfection, but a little of it can create a good environment for work and lead to success.
Occasionally, we hear of competent employees, who painstakingly try to impress their seniors, being suppressed. Those seniors seek to hold on to their posts forever, forgetting their duty to be role models.
They never pay attention to their intelligent subordinates. They overlook the fact that they are team leaders, heading honest employees, who work hard in the best interest of their team.
To their disappointment, employees are suppressed, marginalised, rebuffed and denied training that would improve their skills. Why does this happen? The answer is rather shameful.
There are many types of suppression. For example, when an employee gets a good position after many years of work, he or she is forced to retire or become a consultant.
In either case, the employee is stigmatized as being no longer fit for work. In this way, many bright individuals are forced into early retirement.
In the developed countries, such individuals are treated as assets since they possess valuable knowledge and experience.
