How to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030

Published: 07 Feb 2013 - 04:06 am | Last Updated: 03 Feb 2022 - 11:48 pm

Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030, which was launched under the wise leadership of the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, is a road map for Qatar’s development. It outlines future trends, aspirations and objectives of Qatar’s leaders and people. It addresses the economic, social, human and environmental aspects of a nation’s growth.

All Qatari nationals and residents are required to adopt this vision until it becomes a reality.

In order to achieve the goals of QNV 2030, I present some suggestions that may help:

• Community members and institutions must be exceedingly concerned about achieving the vision.

• Strong educational infrastructure must be built with curricula that best serve the labour market’s needs. The curricula must take into account Shariah, the constitution, and our customs and traditions.

• High-quality education must be provided in a way that satisfies the needs of Qatari society.

• Competent educational administrators, devoted and sincere teachers, hard-working students and supportive families are needed.

• Qatari youth must be innovative, responsible and be sponsored by officials who are keen on the advancement of the state.

• Scientific institutions must be established to enhance the stature of science and motivate young people to take up research.

• National cadres capable of providing the best medical services must exist.

• Fully equipped hospitals ready to provide healthcare must be built.

• The quality and efficiency of Qatar’s health services must be improved.

• The public and private sectors must cooperate and sponsor Qatari businesses to push development plans forward.

•National institutions must upgrade their training programmes.

• Incentives must be given to citizens who contribute to nation building.

• Qatari families and children must be given due attention and care.

• Everybody must pay attention to preserving Qatar’s Islamic culture. Young people must learn the importance of doing this.

• In accordance with Islam, forgiveness, love, compassion, and kindness must have primacy in our life.

• A conducive investment climate must be created to encourage local and foreign investments.

• People who have been laid off but can still work must get job opportunities.

• Qatari capacities in all fields must be mobilised and encouraged.

• A strong media is essential to promoting this vision.

• Everybody must be imbued with a national spirit in order to achieve our ambitions and aspirations.
