DOHA: More than 65,000 Australian sheep arrived here, which Mawashi said was the largest-ever livestock shipment from that country. The consignment also included hybrid Australian sheep and a considerable number of lambs which are known for the tenderness of their meat, the company said in a statement yesterday. The animals have undergone thorough medical tests before their release to the market, it added.
A spokesperson of Mawashi said: “This is the first of many shipments planned for 2013.”
