DOHA: Al Jazeera Center for Studies (AJCS) has been ranked sixth on the list of the best research centres in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena), retaining the advanced status it achieved last year.
The annual rankings of the top research centres around the world were announced by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania. It covered 511 research centers in the Middle East and North Africa.
AJCS Director Dr Salah Eddin Elzein said: “The center has maintained its ranking among the most influential research centers in the Middle East and North Africa, thanks to its intensive and distinguished production of research and provision of objective analyses and in-depth studies on developments in the Arab world and its neighborhood. In addition, the achievement is attributed to AJCS’s interest in organizing forums of dialogue and discussion, including conferences, seminars and workshops, which bring together academics, experts and politicians representing different spectra.”
Elzein said that AJCS will continue its research on the transformations taking place in the region, adding that the center will expand in the field of media studies, build research partnerships with prestigious research and academic institutions around the world and make its products available in English. The Peninsula
