doha: The regional preparatory meeting for the thirteenth UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Doha concluded on Wednesday as the third day session was focused on discussions on the clauses of the Congress agenda in addition to a number of papers associated with the meeting. The meeting was held in preparation for the 13th UNCCPCJ scheduled to be held in Doha in 2015.
Maj Gen Dr Abdullah Yusuf Al Mal, the Legal Advisor of the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the preparatory committee, said that the meeting was fruitful on account of the cooperation of the participating delegations with positive discussions that led to the final agreement on the recommendations. He added that the launching of the new website by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, prior to one year of the conference was a unique event that provides important information and services regarded with the congress.
Abdul Latif Al Deribi, Adviser of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Yemen in Vienna said that the important objective of this meeting is to make preparations for the International Congress on the Prevention of Crime in addition to the coordination with the views of countries in the region, to come out with its recommendations and proposals that can be collaborated with the analyses made in other regional meetings, to get a unified vision before Congress in 2015.
The delegations participated in the preparatory conference affirmed that the meeting was creative in the context of preparations for the thirteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice to be held in Doha next year.
