Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a telephone conversation today with President of the United States of America HE Donald Trump.
During the call, they reviewed the latest developments in light of the continued unjustified Iranian attacks on Qatar and other countries in the region, in addition to discussing efforts to contain the current escalation.
HH the Amir affirmed during the call that the escalation in the region will have serious repercussions for international peace and security, stressing the importance of containing the crisis and intensifying diplomatic efforts to resolve it.
His Highness also emphasized that the State of Qatar will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty, security, and national interests, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the provisions of international law.
Both sides affirmed during the call the necessity of joint action to maintain regional and international stability and to support political processes that would address the current tensions and prevent further escalation in the region.
