Islamabad: A powerful earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale jolted several areas in northern Pakistan in the wee hours yesterday, causing panic among residents.
No loss of life and property was reported.
The tremor was felt in Islamabad, Swat, Shangla, Bunir, Malakand, Kohat Chitral, Gizdar and adjacent areas.
The epicentre of the quake was border areas of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
