DOHA: The sixth edition of Qatar Career Fair (QCF) ended yesterday with organisers saying that it has been the most successful edition to date. Over 66,750 people visited the fair this year.
Overall, the exhibitors were impressed with the quality of applicants this year. Many companies reported that they had successfully recruited candidates who possessed impressive qualities and qualifications and many others were signed into the various graduate, internship, training and development programmes offered by these companies.
However, the final outcomes will be determined over the course of the year once all participating companies have submitted their data.
“QCF is pleased with the outcomes of the fair this year, which had a very encouraging number of visitors. The overall interest shown towards the wide range of education, employment, training and development programmes offered by leading companies is a clear indication that Qataris are beginning to fully understand and utilize these opportunities to take charge of their career path, which is the key objective of this fair,” said Abdulla Al Mansoori, Executive Director.
“On behalf of the organising committee, QCF would like to thank all the exhibitors for their tremendous contributions in making the career fair a big success yet again.
From the outstanding opportunities presented to young job seekers to the invaluable career guidance provided, these companies have played a vital role in helping our youth to understand their prospects in the Qatar job market in terms of career orientation, key areas of employment, skill requirements, and training and development opportunities.
QCF would also like to thank all the volunteers who ensured that the fair ran smoothly from start to end, and conducted themselves very professionally. In addition, we also thank the Media who have shown great support with their timely and wide-spread coverage of the fair each day”, concluded Al Mansoori.
QCF 2013 concluded with several prize presentation ceremonies, including a photography competition sponsored by Al Jazeera to award the best career-inspired photograph; the Search-for-Information competition sponsored by Qatar Leadership Centre, Qatar Petroleum Company, Sidra, Community College Qatar and Supreme Education Council; and a short story competition, which is an annual QCF programme.
