Doha: Qatar yesterday welcomed the endorsement of Tammam Salam, who was handed the task of forming a new government in Lebanon.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Qatar, while appreciating the results of parliamentary consultations held by President Michel Suleiman, hopes that this would be a step towards formation of a government acceptable to the Lebanese people, representing all political forces in order to strengthen the approach of reconciliation and national unity.
