DOHA: An Arab woman beggar has been caught with more that QR50,000 in a residential area in Doha.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) received complaints about a woman, looking like an Arab, was begging door to door and using tricks to solicit public pity.
During search and investigation, a CID team nabbed her and confiscated QR51,791 and a mobile phone from her, said a post on the website of the Ministry of Interior.
During interrogation, she admitted to seeking financial support from people and was referred to authorities to complete investigation. The CID appealed to the people to cooperate with security agencies to curb begging and immediately call the Anti-Begging Section on 2347444 if they come cross such cases.
