The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.
Doha: The Minister of Environment H E Ahmed Amer Mohamed Al Humaidi headed a delegation to a ministerial meeting on the climate change which ended in Bonn yesterday. During the two-day meeting, the ministers discussed the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, which was adopted at the Climate Change Conference, COP18, in Doha, efforts of member states, topics related to the ad-hoc working group on the Durban Platform, which aims to intensify global efforts after 2015, and a new agreement replacing the Kyoto Protocol to be signed in Paris by 2015-end.
Doha: The Minister of Youth and Sports H E Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali praised the stance of Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al Sabah, President, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), supporting Qatar to face scepticism campaigns by foreign media outlets over FIFA World Cup 2022. The Minister called Fahad Al Sabah and thanked him for his solidarity with Qatar to face racist attacks. Al Ali also hailed Fahad Al Sabah’s efforts to support Qatar. The Minister commended stances of Arab peoples and friendly countries and said the World Cup will benefit the people of Arab countries and the Middle East. He stressed that Qatar is going ahead with preparations for the event in a perfect and amazing way as it has promised, in coordination with all institutions concerned.
Doha: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President, Qatar Football Association (QFA), will lead a delegation to Brazil tomorrow to attend meetings of International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) General Assembly and Asian Football Confederation. The delegation comprises QFA Vice-President Saud Al Mohannadi, Board Member, Hani Talib Ballan, and Executive Director of the QFA President office, Ali Daud. The meetings will be held in Sao Paulo from Monday to Thursday on the sideline of the Brazil FIFA World Cup which begins on Thursday. QNA
