Doha: Sheikh Eid bin Mohammad Al Thani Charitable Association has announced the allocation of QR30m for humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip to support thousands of families affected by the Israeli military operation.
In a press statement released yesterday, the Association said that it had provided humanitarian assistance worth QR11.5m to the people of Gaza Strip during the past three weeks , including food,shelter and medical items. The QR30m aid is in addition to that.
Ali bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi, General Manager, Eid Charitable Association, said the humanitarian assistance was part of Qatar’s official and popular efforts to support people in the Gaza Strip.
He added that the Association had carried out educational, medical, construction and relief projects worth an estimated QR236m for the benefit of the Palestinian people since 2007.
The Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) is planning to provide milk and other aid for children in Gaza Strip to benefit 3,000 families.
In cooperation with Dar Al Quran and Sunnah in Gaza, RAF will carry out the initiative worth QR565,000 to deliver the humanitarian aid to the affected families and children in shelters or mosques.
In a press statement yesterday, RAF Director General and Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Ayed bin Dbassan Al Qahtani, urged Qatari benefactors to support RAF’s relief projects for Palestinians in Gaza Strip .
