DOHA: With new academic term about to start, banks in Qatar have launched schemes offering interest-free plans to pay school fees. Doha Bank and Ahlibank have launched promotions which allow customers to pay school fees through credit card without paying interest.
Doha Bank has launched ‘Back To School’ promotion that allows its credit cardholders to pay their children’s school fee in easy, interest-free monthly installments. The promotion allows all Doha Bank credit cardholders to make payment of fees to any school or college anywhere in Qatar using their Doha Bank credit card and convert it to a zero percent ‘Easy Payment Plan’ payable over six months.
“We understand that for parents, there’s hardly anything more important than their children’s education, which is why we have made it even easier for them to settle their child’s education fees with their Doha Bank credit card,” said Dr R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank.
Cardholders can avail the offer by simply sending SMS ‘SCHOOL’ to 92610 after completing the payment using their Doha Bank credit card. In case the child’s school does not accept payments via credit card, a cardholder needs to visit a pre-designated branch and the staff will debit the credit card account and issue them a Pay Order favouring the nominated school which they could then hand over to the school.
Under the scheme offered by Ahlibank, customers can pay school fees using their credit card between 21st August to 15 October and repay in three or six monthly installments at zero percent interest.
