QIC offers exclusive package for GRSIA members

DOHA: Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) announced yesterday that it will be providing exclusive offers to all the existing and future retirees on personal insurance of the members of the General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA), several benefits including a significant discount on premium and many customised services such as pick and drop off for vehicle’s road permit renewal, courtesy car service and airport drop off. 
Members of the General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority can get 25 percent discount on comprehensive car insurances for vehicles (salon, pick-ups, 4 wheel drive)with additional benefits such as roadside assistance in the GCC (Qatar, UAE, Kuwait and Oman), annual pick-up and drop off for traffic vehicle inspection and registration, pick up and drop off for routine maintenance, annual drop off to the Hamad International airport and a three-day courtesy car service. In addition, to add an element of convenience, QIC will also be offering Insurance on Call — a recently launched service whereby a personal insurance specialist will visit the customer and assist in selecting the right cover and issue a policy on the spot. 
Commenting on the new offer, Noor Abdulla Al Shahrani, Head of Public Relations, General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority, said: “We will work hand in hand with QIC towards a fruitful partnership. We will ensure that even the members who are not currently registered in our system can avail of these offers.”

QIC has extended the special 25 percent discount for home, travel and boat insurances. For Third Party Liability (TPL) insurance, members can avail 10 percent discount.

Currently, according to Al Shahrani, there are over 15,000 registered members with the General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority, and all the existing as well as new retirees (both from public and private sector) will be eligible to avail the services offered under this niche product of QIC, which is considered to be the first of its kind in the country. 
These exclusive offers are part of an agreement signed by General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority and QIC officials on June 20 this year.
