KABUL: Dozens of Taliban militants were killed or injured, and several others were detained during the past one week across the country, the interior ministry of Afghanistan announced late on Sunday.
Interior ministry spokesman, Sediq Sediqi said over 100 Taliban militants were killed and 52 others were detained during the military operations, according to to Afghan's Khaama Press.
Sediqi told reporters that the militants were killed or detained during several military operations conducted by Afghan security forces in various parts of the country.
He said at least 107 militants were killed, 52 others were detained and nearly 6,600 kgs of explosives were discovered and seized during the military operations.
The interior ministry spokesman did not disclose further information regarding the exact locations of the operations.
However, he said that the militants were killed or detained during clearance operations in various provinces of the country.
Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the incident. (QNA)
