Qatar outclass DPR Korea 3-1

Doha: Qatar registered their fourth successive friendly win, defeating DPR Korea 3-1 at the Lekhwiya Stadium here yesterday.
All the goals came in the second half with Abdelkarim Hassan scoring a brace. Hassan giving the lead in the 48th minute while two minutes later, Boualem Khoukhi doubled the lead.
 Hassan made it 3-0 with his second goal in the 56th minute. Jang Yong-Sung scored the lone goal for North Korea from the penalty spot, in the 76th minute.
For coach Djamel Belmadi the resounding win is a perfect preparation for the 2014 Gulf Cup of Nations.  The 22nd edition of the biennial football competition will be held from November 13 to 26 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The 2022 World Cup hosts ranked 11th in Asia, 96th in the world had earlier trounced Lebanon 5-0 and followed it up with an impressive 3-0 win over Uzbekistan.  Qatar touched a new high when they defeated Australia 1-0 in yet another friendly in Doha last month. After the Gulf Cup, Qatar will take part in the AFC Asian Cup 2015 which begins Down Under from January 9 to 31. THE PENINSULA
