ISLAMABAD: Intense fog and chill has broken the 50-year record in plains of Pakistani Punjab province. The extreme weather will remain unchanged next 24 hours.
Fog has blanketed the province for a week and Islamabad for three days. Temperature has come down by 12 degree Celsius in the plains of the province. Met Director Muhammad Hanif said cities like Faisalabad, Sialkot and Bahawalnagar are facing the worst winter. Maximum temperature in Punjab cities fluctuates between 10 and 12 degree Celsius while it should have been 20-22 degree Celsius on average, he said.
He said the Punjab’s overall temperature is matching Muree’s and fog is causing traffic accidents. He said in the extreme winter, the spread of diseases is feared.
