142 people agree to donate their organs after death

DOHA: A 10-day awareness campaign on organ donation held by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in connection with National Day celebrations had a positive impact, with 142 participants agreeing to donate their organs after death.
HMC said 60 of the of donors were Qatari men and women. The campaign was organised at Darb El Saai from December 8 to 18. The organ donation stall occupied a considerable space at the HMC pavilion.
It aimed at encouraging people to voluntarily register for organ donation after their death, the Qatar News Agency reported yesterday.
Some 20,000 students from 16 schools visited the HMC pavilion in Darb El Saai and  were briefed on the organ transplant campaign and given booklets on organ donation in Qatar. QNA
