Qatari businesses and Government agencies with excellent marketing and advertising initiatives are being encouraged to enter
the prestigious AME Awards World’s Best Advertising & Marketing Effectiveness™. as the search continues for the best and
most effective marketing and advertising campaigns from the Middle East.
Managed by New York Festivals, the AME Awards are the ultimate accolade in recognising the very best of marketing and
advertising effectiveness and carry a tremendous amount of prestige globally.
In what is a truly worldwide competition, the initial stages are split by geography with the Middle East and Africa tipped to be
an extremely competitive region with a range of quality entrants expected. Regional winners are put forward to compete on the
global stage in the final rounds of judging.
Alisun Armstrong, executive director of AME Awards, said: “We aim to keep the AME Awards on the forefront of both creative
and technological industry trends,” said Ms. Armstrong. “We’re looking for good work that works. Winners must demonstrate
brilliant and well-executed creative ideas that achieve the highest result for the brand, and will earn global recognition from a
jury of their peers.”
Previous shortlisted entries and winners include Abu Dhabi Police for their work highlighting road safety for the Directorate of
Traffic and Patrols, PHD China for their Cornetto ice-cream advertising campaign, and Heimat Werbeagentur for their campaign
to highlight the CNN Ecosphere initiative. Finalists come from around the world and compete in a range of different categories
covering a plethora of sectors and brands.
Judging the entrants is the Grand Jury, a panel comprised of the top interactive and multidisciplinary marketers, media planners,
strategy directors, social media experts, and creative directors from all over the world. Returning for a second year as an expert
panellist is Zed Communications General Manager Robert Mitchell, who has previously worked as Creative Director in some of
the world’s best agency groups in Europe, the US and Asia and has a string of creative awards to his name.
Sitting in Zed’s new Doha offices on D-Ring Road, Robert spoke about the AME Awards and their value to winners: “The world
of marketing and advertising is changing faster than ever; we now know far more about how people interact with particular
brands because of their digital habits, so we’re able to create much better targeted and more effective campaigns. Media
surrounds us 365/24/7 and the possibilities to connect with our audiences are practically limitless. Measuring effectiveness, or
return on marketing investment, is now a must for every campaign.”
Robert continues: “The regional element of the AME Award process is crucial and I look forward to being wowed by the great
talent that we have in Qatar and the Middle East when it comes to creating insightful content that resonates with consumers.
Winning an AME Award means your creativity actually worked in the market — because if it didn’t work, it’s simply not creative.”
