Multi-storey parking facility planned for HMC employees

DOHA: There is a plan to build a multi-storey parking facility exclusively for the staff of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to address severe parking shortage at Hamad General Hospital premises, the Central Municipal Council (CMC) was told.
The facility will be located between the Sports Roundabout and HMC’s Human Resources Department building.
This was disclosed in a letter to the CMC Chairman, Saud Abdullah Al Hanzab, by the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning  H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, according to Al Sharq.
The minister was responding to proposals put forward by CMC related to the parking issue at the Hamad Hospital premises.
The Minister said there is a proposal under consideration to build underground parking facilities at the hospital premises in line with new developments in the area.
He said there is a need to reassess parking areas for visitors and patients to meet growing demand.
Reacting to complaints about the increasing commodity prices in the country, the Minister said the special committee set up by the Cabinet to monitor prices has started identifying products (under its jurisdiction) and their prices.
He said the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce was ready to have a session with the CMC to listen to its views and suggestions on the issue. The Peninsula
