DOHA: Qatar Career Fair’s (QCF) first Winter Career Camp for Qataris will be held at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) from January 24 to 29 between 9am and 2pm.
It is open to Qatari preparatory students — boys and girls — with separate classes for each group.
It aims to provide them with practical skills and knowledge to help choose the right academic path that better suits their and capabilities.
During the one-week programme, students will take part in career-oriented workshops tailored to instil in them the basics of a strong career culture and help them discover their skills and talents.
The camp will provide students with multiple skills in an easy and entertaining manner.
Abdulla Al Mansoori, Director,  QCF, said: “The launch of the first camp for Qatari preparatory school students follows on from QCF’s endeavours to prepare career-oriented Qatari youth, and builds on the Summer Career Camp for high schools students which started two years ago.
“The camp is part of the new approach of QCF to target younger age groups starting from 13-years-old.
“This is due to the importance of creating a strong career culture at an early age.
“We encourage preparatory school students to benefit from the workshops and programmes, which will allow them to discover their talents and help them choose the appropriate academic path for their desired career,” he added. The camp will give students the opportunity to visit leading organisations, allowing them to gain first-hand insights into what they can expect in the world of employment and plan their academic endeavours at an early stage.
All students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded participation certificates.
To ensure participation, students are advised to register online by January 20. To be eligible, Qatari students have to be in the preparatory stage of education (7th to 9th grades) and not above 15 years.
Registration fee for the camp is QR500 and participants will have to obtain a no objection letter from parents or guardians.
