Doha: In connection with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Cultural Forum Kozhikode District Committee organised the prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the prediction competition and paid tribute to the volunteers from Kozhikode district who served as volunteers during the World Cup 2022.
Six winners were selected by drawing lots in the presence of those who answered correctly in the prediction contest. More than five hundred people participated in the contest.
Sports journalist NS Nisar, who came from India to cover the World Cup Qatar 2022, inaugurated the event. He said that Qatar witnessed the World Cup of changes and Qatar, which set the stage for the competition with the team that has shown great performances, has also won a place in the hearts of football lovers.
The natives and the diaspora community including Indians played a major role in the success of the World Cup.
Freestyle footballer Hadiya Hakeem, who arrived in Doha for FIFA world Cup Qatar 2022, was honoured at the event. Cultural Forum State Vice-President Mohammad Kunhi and Hadiya Hakeem spoke. District President Sadique chennadan presided.
Cultural Forum State VicePresident Muhammad Kunhi, Cultural Forum Treasurer Abdul Gafoor, District General Secretary Maqbool Ahmed, Vice-President Adv Iqbal, Sakina Abdullah, Dr. Naushad Kuttiadi, Afzal Chennamangallur, Treasurer Amjad Koduvalli, NS Nisar and Hadiya Hakeem gave the prizes to the winners.
Cultural Forum Kozhikode District secretaries AbduRahim Vengeri, Yasser TK, Haris Pudukul, Raziq N, district committee members Arif Vadakara, Zainuddin Nadapuram, Rabih Zaman, Najmal Parakkadav, Umar Master, constituency presidents Sharif KT, Aslam Vadakara and others presented gifts to the volunteers. District Vice-President Advocate Iqbal welcomed and sports wing convenor Muhsin Omassery gave vote of thanks.
