Doha: A team of volunteers comprising health educators from UNIQ, a non-profitable service oriented organisation, has conducted an awareness session for the teachers of MES Indian School at the conference hall of the school on health emergency and first aid procedures.
Mini Sibi, UNIQ President, in her welcome note, highlighted various service-oriented activities conducted by the volunteers of UNIQ in the recent past.
Kumari Thankam, Senior Nurse educator, HMC and UNIQ education wing advisory member elaborated on the objectives, and various modules as well as the importance of the School Health Education Programme (SHEP), which is a collaborated programme influenced by the Qatar National Health Strategy to reach out students in forms of seminars, workshops, classroom discussions targeting students, teachers and all other stakeholders.
Suliman, emergency expert, HMC and UNIQ Education wing member and Jiss Thomas, educator, HMC and UNIQ and education wing member spoke on the occasion on topics concerning the execution of first aid and the appropriate method of handling the victims of accident cases.
The session was highly interactive with teachers’ overwhelming participation.
The members of the health team expressed their willingness to detail the modules in the upcoming sessions. They were presented with mementoes for their noble service to the well-being of everyone. The school management and the principal Dr. Hameeda Kadar thanked the team members for their praiseworthy service to humanity and creditable achievements.
