Doha - The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) marked the Qatar National Sports Day, which is celebrated annually across Qatar on the second Tuesday of February, by organizing an event today at Al Bidda Park with several entities in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector and postal sector.
"Qatar was a pioneer in dedicating the National Sports Day as an annual event to spread awareness about the importance of sports and its role in the lives of individuals and societies. The ministry ensures to participate in the National Sports Day events, in line with our keenness to promote a healthy lifestyle and emphasize its role in improving the quality of life and maintaining a healthy society capable of giving and producing," said Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai.
"I would like to thank all the entities for their partnership and participation in the sports and team building activities, which contributes to creating positive energy, strengthen teamwork spirit, and improve communication between different entities in the field. That ultimately enhances our collaboration towards accomplishing our common goals in both sectors and contributes to driving development and achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030," His Excellency added.
The ministry was joined by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), Mada Assistive Technology Center Qatar, Es'hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, Ooredoo Qatar Q.P.S.C., Vodafone Qatar P.Q.S.C., Gulf Bridge International (GBI), Qatar Postal Services Company (Q-Post), MEEZA, Microsoft, Google Cloud, and Huawei.
The event included various sports activities for men, women, and kids that ignited the spirit of participation and competition and spread the spirit of unity and harmony among them, e.g., football, volleyball, basketball, and other sporting activities.
The event witnessed a wide participation of senior officials from the ICT and postal sectors, including many employees and their families.
