Doha: The Institute of Internal Auditors - Qatar (IIA), in association with Scientific Accounting Association and Qatar Certified Public Accountants, is holding a national conference on internal auditing from May 25 to 27.
Under the patronage of H E Abdulla bin Hamad Al Attiyah, President, Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, the forum will be held at the Hilton hotel.
Al Attiyah will inaugurate the event being held under the theme ‘Are we on track?’ with reference to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 goals.
Ibrahim bin Hashim Al Sada, acting President of State Audit Bureau, will deliver the keynote address. Other speakers include IIA Qatar President Hassan Al Mulla (pictured).
Chris Adonis, Conference Chairman, said in a statement that the event aims to serve IIA members and contribute to the profession of internal auditing.
He said in any profession research and development is a cornerstone. By enabling our members to participate in thought processes of leaders and trailblazers in this difficult economic, social and technological world, we not only contribute to their abilities, but also to their value propositions in their companies, corporations, government departments, and society.
Under the leadership of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar has developed QNC 2030. The government relies on citizens and expatriates to contribute to these goals.
In 2013, IIA latched onto the vision and identified where and how auditors can contribute by serving their companies in such a way that the collective contribution to the achievement of the Vision is realised.
It is also imperative for any professional to have time to reflect, network and allow opportunities to sharpen their views. In a more competitive environment there is no room for complacency.
