DOHA: The Hamad International Training Center (HTIC) at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is planning to introduce training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to deal with the rising number of heart patients in the country. “The idea is to train staff from schools, shopping malls and companies to provide emergency care to people suffering from heart attacks, before they are shifted to the care of a medical team,” Dr Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen, HITC director and chairman of Kulluna campaign said yesterday. The participants will be trained on the use of Automated External Defibrillator, an electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening heart diseases, he added.
