WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State John Kerry will head to Mexico for a two-day trip aimed at increasing trade and security cooperation between the North American neighbours, his office said yesterday.
His trip, from May 21 to 22, will focus on “a range of bilateral issues, including expanding trade and economic growth, increasing higher education collaboration, and our continuing security cooperation,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement yesterday.
“While in Mexico City, Secretary Kerry will also follow up on President (Barack) Obama’s February discussions during the North American Leaders Summit regarding our North American and global partnership,” she added.
Mexico and the United States share a long border spanning more than 3,000 kilometers.
