Qatar Steel has honoured 285 employees, who have spent their dedicated 10 to 40 years in service at a ceremony held  at Al-Reem Club in Mesaieed Industrial City.

Those who attended the event were  Ali bin Hassan Al-Muraikhi, Qatar Steel's Managing Director and General Manager, Division and department managers and senior employees.

Speaking on the occasion, Al-Muraikhi  expressed Qatar Steel’s gratitude and appreciation to the awardees for their committed efforts and devotion throughout their long service.

“This event also reflects the importance that Qatar Steel attaches to its manpower, which it is keen to develop through training and constant motivation, in order to enhance their capabilities, improve their performance and to ultimately achieve the desired objectives and results”, he said.

Al-Muraikhi pointed out that Qatar Steel achieved outstanding performance last year, despite all challenges it faced in terms of global slow demand, fluctuating steel prices.

He  said  Qatar Steel had provided a safe and zero accident working environment. Qatar Steel launched a Safety Transformation Program (AMAN) across the company in 2016, in order to enhance the safety culture among all employees, educate them about the basic health and safety principles and regulations. Our vision for sustainable development lies in transforming Qatar Steel as one of leading steel companies that are applying the highest HSE standards.

"Qatar Steel's strategies have focused on cost optimization, efficiency improvement, technology up-gradation, as well as maximization of available resources, in order to enhance its  productive capabilities."
